In Nineteen Eighty-Eight...

after producing Missing Link's initial four song EP, Walter Egan began recording songs with Sara Fleetwood such as "Baby Have A Heart, Wasn't I A Part Of You?" while at the same time, Guns & Roses "Welcome To The Jungle," contrarily, was zooming up the song charts. Falling musically, somewhere in between are these songs & stylings from Missing Link Us creating Far From The Edge, with myself crawling up from between the cracks. Most, if not all of the songs here, were recorded in ensemble fashion, continuing the technique of multi-track recordings as was when I was last living at a house and carried over this recording technique for a short while to the new apartment where I lived.

A recording deal for the Missing Link was almost struck with Jack Lee Brand (Hanging On The Telephone) to record these songs heard here on Far From The Edge at Studio Seven owned by Jack Lee Brand but when Jack suggested using drum sampling effects such as the beginning snare drum hit from The Byrd's "Turn Turn Turn," for Missing Link's song "Nothing Part II," the decision was made declining to work with Jack Lee Brand/Jack Lee Inferno.

Getting the band instead back into a studio was anticipated but was never materialized for these new Missing Link songs.

A short time after this, some of the songs found within Far From The Edge were released as a very successful word of mouth cassette of nine songs with the four Walter Egan produced song's being remastered and re-mixed there.

This nine song cassette release garnered a lot of attention keeping hope alive for my recording career to "go professional" by many people who were both fans or friends.

Then at that time in nineteen eighty-nine, the Missing Link began mainly or almost solely recording songs in the fashion of England's own Billy Bragg using an electric guitar and one vocal only.

Between nineteen eighty-nine, and, nineteen ninety-nine, Missing Link recorded few, if any, songs again in a multi-track ensemble manner.

In nineteen ninety-four, when becoming a born again Christian, and having being slowed by a back injury since nineteen ninety, I stopped writing, playing, and performing for four years
until nineteen ninety-eight
